Ahead of summer, Whitehaven donated more than $15,200 to allow the facility to install four reverse-cycle air conditioners into three units.
The new air conditioning units will replace existing units, which have been there since the facility was opened in 1973.

Glentarkie Aged Care Facility committee president Ron Boxsell said the new units would be a major benefit to the residents.
"It was pretty warm here a few days ago and one of our residents told me he 'had one of the best night's sleep in years', thanks to the new air conditioners," Mr Boxsell said.
"We did have existing air conditioners in the units, but they were quite old and not working as they should.
"Now, our residents will benefit from more efficient, quieter systems.
"We are really grateful to Whitehaven for their generous donation and we can't thank them enough."
A Whitehaven Coal spokesperson said the company was committed to supporting the local community.
"Whitehaven are very happy to support the committee to bring a cool, quiet summer to the Glentarkie Aged Care Facility residents of Boggabri," the spokesperson said.
The new units have been installed, while the old systems have been removed.
"It does get quite hot here in the summer time, so these new units will really help," Mr Boxsell said.
"As a committee, we are really happy with this positive outcome for our residents."
