The Gravesend husband and father returned home at the start of November, after spending months in hospital recovering from rare neurological disorder Guillain-Barré Syndrome and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.
Red is still undergoing physiotherapy to build his strength, after losing control of his body, and is required to travel to Bingara or Warialda once a week, as well as complete two hours of physio at home every morning.
He also had to return to Tamworth a few weeks ago to have the first of six monthly doses of intravenous immunoglobulin.
Red's recovery is going so well that he returned to work as a farm hand for half days on Monday, November 25
Although fatigue is an issue, Red is back to riding his quad with a little trouble changing gears as he is yet to regain strength or control of his left foot.
"It's so good to have him home and back to what is now a new normal," Red's mother Andrea McClymont said.
To celebrate Red's homecoming, the Gravesend community is hosting a Family Fun Day at the Gravesend Recreation Ground from 10am on December 7.
The event will feature casual games of cricket, touch football and tennis (participants need to bring their own racquets), as well as a silent auction and photo booth.
There will also be a chocolate wheel, children's' activities, market stalls and a barbecue and refreshments available to purchase.
The Reel it in for Red Monster Raffle will be drawn, with plenty of great prizes up for grabs.
All money raised will be going to support Red's ongoing recovery.
If you wish to have a market stall, contact Taylah on 0435 312 153 or teejay1404@hotmail.com. A small site fee will be charged. Glass is prohibited and not to be brought onto the grounds.
