With the goal of raising $1.2 million through the national appeal from now until Friday, December 27, North West NSW locals can get involved in the Tree of Hope fundraising initiative by heading into Petbarn Tamworth or any Greencross clinic and purchasing a $3, $5 or $10 decoration.
Every time a star is purchased from the Tree of Hope, the Petbarn Foundation will make a donation to the RSPCA and North West NSW pet-related charity partners helping local animal welfare groups to continue their great work in supporting animals in need.
Scott Charters, Greencross Limited Chief Operating Officer of Retail, said the donations will be shared across nominated shelters, pet rescue groups and the like to bring much-needed funds for the year ahead.
Petbarn Tamworth will be donating a portion of the funds to the RSPCA as well as to local charity partners, in a bid to raise a record number of donations.
Furthermore, a donations going to the RSPCA will be used to help with the bushfires affecting New South Wales and Queensland.
"The simple act of purchasing a Tree of Hope Christmas decoration at Tamworth helps hard working pet-related charities continue their work," Mr Charters said.
"It's nice to know that any contribution from North West NSW locals, small or large, will help give animals in need the chance to put a better paw forward ahead of the new year."
Since launching the Petbarn Foundation in 2012, over $13.1 million has been raised for animal welfare initiatives.
Petbarn Tamworth Store Manager, Cassandra Mounter, is encouraging the North West NSW community to come in store and help out as much as possible.
"Sadly, every Christmas there are thousands of animals across the country in need of love and a family," she said.
"Our goal, as always, is to raise as much funding as possible to help save the lives of as many animals in need in North West NSW as well as across Australia, and we would not be able to achieve that without the support and kindness of North West NSW residents."
The Petbarn Foundation's Tree of Hope Appeal will run in Petbarn Tamworth and Greencross Vets clinics nationally from now until Friday 27th December.
