Strong winds are set to lash parts of the state and areas around Tamworth as well as Armidale, Tenterfield and Glen Innes could be affected.

The wild weather is also set to have firefighters on high alert, as a total fire ban remains in place for Monday in the New England region.
The weather, caused by a strong cold front, has provided firefighters battling the Moonbi Range blaze, which has now burnt more than 6850 hectares, with cooler conditions.
Despite bringing the temperature down around the region, the wild weather is unlikely to bring any significant rainfall to the North West.
