The Imperial is one of four venues named on the latest Liquor and Gaming NSW's violent venues list, released on Friday.

The violent venues list shows the number of violent incidents over a 12-month period. The Imperial recorded 13 incidents across a one-year period.

Four venues are on level 2 - all in Sydney - except the Imperial.

The Ivy in the Sydney CBD recorded 15 incidents; followed by the Imperial; and then Northies Cronulla Hotel and Tattersall's Hotel in Penrith which saw 12 incidents apiece.

Pubs and clubs with 12 or more incidents make the list, and those that record 18 or more incidents are classed as level one.

When venues make the list, they face strict conditions that must be met, as well as increased monitoring by Liquor and Gaming officials.

In good news, the department said five venues were removed from the violence list.

"For just the third time since the scheme began in 2008, there are no venues in the most restrictive level one category," Director of Compliance Operations Sean Goodchild said.

"It's also pleasing that five of the six venues on the previous list have taken steps to improve their safety record and are no longer listed."

Mr Goodchild said the results have seen a further drop in the number of listed venues on the last list issued in May.

"These results show our state's licensed venues are now safer than they've ever been, meaning people can enjoy nights out with far lower risks of alcohol-related violence," Mr Goodchild said.

"These results are the best in several years and continue a longer-term trend with data from the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research showing alcohol-related non-domestic assaults falling at around seven per cent per year."
