The Tamworth BMX rider is one of the three finalists in the Junior BMX category.
"Being nominated for junior BMX cyclist of the year was a huge honor, especially as a first year junior," Davis said.
"I'll be in the company of some of not only the best BMX riders in the country, but the best cyclists in the country. That's a pretty cool feeling and I'm looking forward to the awards night."
Davis learnt of the news from Texas where he has been preparing for what is regarded as one of the biggest BMX events in the world.
After winning both the 15-16 open and 16 expert divisions last year, the size of the trophies matching the scale of the achievement, he will step up to race in the junior elite and 17-20 years.

He goes in "feeling super confident".
"Training has been really consistent leading into the race and I feel super fast on the bike," he said.
"(In training) I've just tried to maintain a high intensity physically and mentally, while also being consistent."
"I believe I have achieved this so hopefully it can pay off."
That said he isn't going in with any expectations of bringing home a trophy.
"I just want to focus on myself and hopefully execute good laps," he said.
He will race in the junior elite on Friday (US time), the 17-20's following on Saturday and Sunday.
