"Last time we were at the lookout was five years ago and people still tell stories of a great night there. We're hoping to build on that and be even bigger and better this year."
The theme for the black tie event is "the greatest show under the stars".
"So expect some circus acts, some fun entertainment - we've got Racheal Beck MCing and she'll be performing some songs," Mr Gillet said.
"If people what to theme their black tie outfits with a bit of razzle dazzle that's always good."
Mr Gillett said it was only through businesses, such as ball sponsors Single Builders, and the community that the chopper remained free for anyone who needs it.
"The helicopter is owned by the community so we want to make sure it stays that way," he said.
"The focus is on how the community and businesses contribute, and how they make the helicopter available 24/7."
Tickets are $220 a head or $2000 for a table of ten.
