Opening the innings, Sam Fox (57) along with Laird, who compiled a patient 104, helped their side post an intimidating first innings total of 5-249.
Joshua Langdon was the pick of the home side's bowlers, finishing with 2-19. In reply, early wickets to Jack Dadd (3-16) had the home side reeling at 3-23.

However, it proved not to be enough as a middle-order collapse caused Gunnedah-Moree-Narrabri to be dismissed for just 85.
Tamworth Blue will now look to close out the representative season with a clash against Inverell on Sunday, while Gunnedah-Moree-Narrabri will take on Tamworth Gold.
The under-16 loss further compounded a tough day for Gunnedah, who went down at under-14 and under-12 level to Narrabri.
Alistair Wheeler (88 not out) and Bernard O'Connor (66) helped the visitors post a formidable first innings total of 290.
Peter McCormack (54) and Aidan King (47) attempted to keep the undermanned hosts in the game, but it proved not to be enough as the side was dismissed for 127.
In the under-12 clash, Narrabri chased down Gunnedah's first innings total of 61 with four wickets to spare.
