Souths snapped a four-game losing run and moved off the bottom of the ladder after the comprehensive first-innings defeat of Bective East at No 1 Oval. The Bulls are now last.
Chasing 120, Souths made 8-217 declared. Travis Ling top-scored for Souths (54 not out).
It was just really pleasing the blokes aren't dropping their heads and getting too worked up about it.

Adam Jones and Josh Howison both took three wickets for the Bulls, who finished on 1-23 in their second dig.
Groth said: "We were obviously pretty keen to turn up and put in a good performance. So, I was just pleased with our attitude ... It was just really pleasing the blokes aren't dropping their heads and getting too worked up about it.

At Riverside 1, Old Boys had an outright win over West Tamworth.
Resuming at 3-170 on Saturday, after dismissing Wests for 90, the reigning premiers made 9-255 declared. Opener Adam Lole top-scored with 95, while Wests quick Elliot Bowen claimed 70-55 off 16.3 overs.
Wests were dismissed for 116 in their second innings, with veteran pacemen Troy Sands taking 5-43 off 12 overs.
