The council's sport and recreation development officer, Sam Eriksson, has spoken directly to people through regular pop-up sessions to field queries from the community.
He said there were some prevailing and recurring misconceptions in the community.
"One of the repeated myths is the council is going to close the pool imminently," he said.
"That is definitely not going to happen."

He said the closure of the city's two current pools would hinge wholly on the the definite establishment of a new aquatic centre.
He said it was a very long way down the track.
"The two pools won't close until we're dipping out toes in the water of the aquatic centre," he said.
He also hit back at suggestions the council was deliberately letting the city pool fall into disrepair.
"Another myth is council is running the current city pool into the ground," he said.
"That is far from the truth.
"We are spending big money on getting that ready for next season, or if it rains we can open it this season." Feedback on the plan is open until November 28.
