"These are challenging times, but this assistance, which we are continuing to roll out, at least provides some relief for people impacted by bushfire around the New England."
The DRFA help could include support for councils to clean up and fix public assets; concessional interest rate loans; freight subsidies or grants for non-profits.

Mental Health Minister Bronnie Taylor said she urged people to "reach out for help and tap into the counselling and mental health services available".
"The widespread loss and distress caused by a major event such as this impacts the whole the community, and those affected need support now and in the months ahead," Mrs Taylor said.
"Disaster welfare services, including counselling support, are currently being provided at 21 evacuation centres across the state."
That included the centre at Glen Innes Showground.
The Australian Taxation Office said on Friday it was "considering the most appropriate response to people affected by the NSW and Qld bushfires".
