In the last two weeks the exhibition hall has been flooded with mixed-medium works ready for opening night.
The CWA was excited to welcome this year's judge, Archibald People's Choice winner David Darcy, publicity officer Claire Lennon said.
"Each year we try to add something different and interesting, and this year is no exception," she said.
"We have added a new section, Wearable Art, 'Bodices and Bras', a very colourful and fun section."
The Nundle Art Show started in 1965 when a local teacher, Judy Swain, wanted to raise $800 to upgrade the CWA rooms so a preschool could be established in the town.
Now, the CWA rooms host not only the preschool, but Hunter New England Health services, a doctor's surgery and meeting rooms open to community groups.
