Tamworth was still able to send six of its Fire and Rescue NSW crew members to the annual Firies Climb for Motor Neurone Disease in Sydney this weekend.
The Tamworth team raised more than $7200 for its 1504 step trek up Sydney tower which will be donated to MND research efforts at Macquarie University.

Numbers were down this year given the unfolding fire emergency across the state.
There was no time to rest for the Tamworth team who were quickly deployed to assist with fires in the Glen Innes area after the climb.
Twelve firefighters from the Tamworth 452 and West Tamworth 508 Fire and Rescue NSW units have been deployed to help battle blazes in the region's north.
