The event aims to bring people together and create a safe environment to share their mental health experiences.
Event organiser Katie Taylor said a "really good cross section of the community" turned up, and everyone got free "uplifting, bright and cheerful yellow shirts".
"That is our way of saying you're part of group, instantly giving people a sense of belonging," Mrs Taylor said.
There will be a Walk 'n' Talk on the second Sunday of every month, with the next one on December 8. People can meet at the yellow marquee near the playground at Bicentennial Park.
"Hopefully people will see the yellow shirts and it will grow over time," Mrs Taylor said.
