Tamworth RSL sub-branch president Jayne McCarthy said this year's service, which starts at 10.15am, had a special focus on getting the region's students involved, to ensure the next generation understood the significance of the day.
"The more we talk about Remembrance Day and about those who served, the more it brings in to focus what is happening today," Ms McCarthy said.
"We have to the remember people who put their life on the line and served their country - all those that have gone before us, and the men and women currently in the armed forces."
Ms McCarthy reminded people to look out for the RSL's poppy appeal stalls.
