Kid Montana notched up his first Albion Park win on September 28, with Queensland reinsman Nathan Dawson accepting the drive on that occasion, and produced a mile rate of 1.55.8 for 2138 metres.
Chris Shepherdson handled the reins in Saturday's win, and in doing so picked up his first metro win with Kid Montana.
"When the draw came out, we were confident and we were very happy with the win - the horse went nice," Shepherdson said.

The win comes after Kid Montana won the PeterMac Photography Local Horse of the Year and the KTR Standardbred Stud Horse of the Year Award at Tamworth.
Kid Montana utilised the one barrier in the running of the TAB Band 5 Pace holding out Makoa (Grant Dixon), who made an early challenge for the lead from the two barrier, with the first quarter contested in a blistering 26 seconds.
"They were going faster than what we thought they would," Shepherdson said.
"[We were] lucky enough we got a cheap second quarter (31.3 seconds)".
Kid Montana covered the third quarter in 28.6 seconds before being the first past the post with a 27.4 second final quarter.
"That was my first metro winner, so the biggest in my career for sure," Shepherdson said.
"It was just good to drive him and get the winner."
"I don't give myself a pat on the back as he is an easy horse to drive and I was lucky I was on him for the night."
It is a family effort working around the Shepherdson stables, with five horses in work.
"We were all proud - we put a lot of work into the horses as a family - I was proud for my family" Shepherdson said.
"We sent him (Kid Montana) across to the trials at Tamworth on the Tuesday night and he won the trial by 33 metres with a mile rate of 1.57 and Sarah Rushbrook drove him.
"He needed the hit out and Sarah said he 'is a bit of a machine'."
The next start for Kid Montana, who has had 18 wins and 14 placings in his short 52 start career, could be at Albion Park, against a similar field with a junior driver, or it could very well be a start at Menangle.
"We will have a look for his next start," Shepherdson said.
"When we go to Albion Park, it is a five-hour drive from Narrabri and the Weidemann family are so obliging letting us camp there for a break.
"They treat us like family and without something like that we wouldn't be able to do what we are achieving."
