Tamworth Harness Racing Club's Tanya Welsh said the event would be crucial for the youngsters' development.
"It really is a fantastic opportunity for these kids," Welsh told the Leader.
"The competition is made up of those who competed at the state titles during the Easter break.
"It gives those who may not have won back in Easter the chance to compete on a great stage like Menangle."
The event will also mark a maiden trip for one member of the group.
"It will be the first time Justin Pincham and his pony Magic Mike will have been down to the Fishers Ghost," Welsh said.
"However the others and their ponies, Tanner (Flamin M&M), Brodhi (Snow Good), Sam (Miss Wilson) and Nash (Little Miss Lily) have all been before.
"Even for those guys, it is still a really good chance to hone their skills and get some experience under their belt."
Welsh said the group had been hard at work preparing for Sunday's event.
"They have all been using our club's race meetings to get ready for it," she said.
"Everyone of them really enjoys racing and I'm sure this weekend will be no exception."
Welsh said the entire Tamworth Harness Racing Club was throwing its support behind the group.
"It's always great to see the kids getting out and having fun," she said.
"The entire club just wants to wish them good luck for this weekend and we all can't wait to see how they all go down in Menangle."
