The new NAB branch in Peel Street will open three months ahead of schedule, and with "growth in mind", executives said during a visit to Tamworth yesterday.

Construction was set to start in January for an April opening, but "no hiccups" meant "we sped things up" and the launch is now set for country music festival-time.
Staff from the current NAB sites received a tour of their future workplace yesterday afternoon and are said to be "really excited".
It will bring together all staff from the three NAB sites: the West Tamworth branch, which will close, the CBD branch, which is the one being shifted, and the Regional and Agribusiness Connect Centre.
Consultations with staff have been going for about 15 months, NAB retail executive general manager Krissie Jones said.

"I think they're really excited, to be honest: This is going to be a far superior location to where we're working today ... We're going to have more than 60 people in this building, which is fantastic."
According to NAB chief customer officer of consumer banking, Mike Baird, there is also room for "at least an additional 10 staff".
Customers can expect it to be an "inviting, welcoming place" with a new NAB design that's the first in regional Australia.
"We're going across the country [with it], but the first in regional Australia is here," Mr Baird said.
There will be a concierge and some of the faciltiies will 24/7 facilities, including SmartATMs, and business deposit, coin deposit and quick-change machines.
There will be a car park off Dowe Street.

Single Builders is the builder for the $2.4 million project; NAB plans "to award subcontracts to local companies shortly" for the fit-out.
"We've heard today - and saw it on the way in - the devastating impact of the drought, so to provide a good-news story in a community that's doing it tough at the moment is something that we're really proud of," Mr Baird said.
