Competing in the softball competition, Natalie Crittle and Leannda Green helped guide the Lady Hawks to a silver-medal finish.

Playing as a designated runner and a catcher respectively, the Tamworth duo played vital roles with the bat and in the field in the side's successful tournament run.

"We had a lot of fun and it was really pleasing to have such a successful tournament," Crittle told the Leader.

"Leannda hit two home runs for the tournament, while I was able to get on base 90 per cent of the time.

"From personal perspectives, it was a really great tournament."

The Penrith-based side lost only one game during the early stages of the tournament, before going on to lose in the gold medal game.

"I think we had a really great run throughout the whole tournament, only losing two games as well as drawing in one other," Crittle said.

"We had a really great feeling around the team and that's what I think took us as far as we did.

"Honestly, it was so much fun."

The over-35 tournament in Adelaide, was the second time Crittle has competed at the Masters.

"It's the second time I've been and the second time I've claimed a silver medal," she said.

"It was Leannda's first time at the Masters and I know she really enjoyed her experience as well.

"I'm sure we will both be back at some stage, and hopefully we can inspire a few our Pandas teammates to come along as well - once they're old enough, that is."

The chance to play against teams from all over the country was something Crittle said "was very special about the whole tournament".

"I was lucky enough to play with quite a few of the same girls I played with when I last went, back in 2015," she said.

"As well as that, I was also able to play against some people from my old junior club that I played for growing up.

"That's the great thing about the Masters: it gives the chance to do cool things like that."

Crittle said she would now turn her attention to the upcoming Tamworth softball season, which begins on Saturday.

"There's not much rest between baseball and softball, but it should be another great season," she said.

"It's actually a pretty exciting time for softball in Tamworth because we are about to launch a mid-week, mixed, slow-pitch competition, which should be a lot of fun.

"As well as that, we have our first round of competition this weekend and a come and try day for the juniors."
