With the Armidale competition not commencing until next weekend, Triebe, who is president of Armidale City, decided to have a trundle with Norths.
Taking the new ball as Norths defended 148, he didn't take long to make an impact, picking up Liam Rodgers without troubling the scorers to have City in early trouble at 1-2.
He went on to finish with 3-15, nabbing the final two wickets as Norths claimed a 35-run win.
"It was a good way to start the season," new Redbacks skipper Adam Greentree said.
He said Triebe "bowled really well". His understanding is that he will play for City but when they have a bye he might come down again, and maybe over Christmas with the Armidale competition breaking for longer than Tamworth.

Overall Greentree thought it was a pretty "well-disciplined" bowling performance from the Redbacks.
"I thought we bowled really well especially on that pitch," he said.
The secret was not to bowl any short balls. That was where they picked up their fours when they batted.
"We just bowled full and straight," he said.
The other really pleasing thing for Greentree was the spread of the wickets with Harrison Hague picking up two, and himself, Aaron Mills and Brad Redshaw one.
Michael Rixon was the only bowler to miss out but "bowled really well".
He really helped build the pressure on the City batsmen going for only 15 off his six overs.
Earlier whilst only one other batsmen aside from Brendan Rixon (42) made it past 20, Greentree was pretty happy to put 148 on the board.
"The pitch was a bit up and down," he said.
"Ricko said he never felt comfortable at the wicket."
City similarly struggled with Tom Fitzgerald and Scott Brennan the equal top-scorers with 20. Tait Jordan was earlier the pick of the bowlers with 3-19.
