BECTIVE-East and South Tamworth will both be looking to shake off disappointing 2018-2019 seasons when the new Tamworth District Cricket Association season begins on Saturday.
Souths began last season in imposing fashion, taking out the one-day competition.
However, the side was unable to carry that momentum into the two-day format, missing the finals on percentage.
For Bective-East, last season offered little joy as the side finished in sixth place in both formats.
Jye Paterson will lead Bective-East for a second season, after taking on the role midway through last season.
Souths will be without one of its key weapons after, earlier this week, fast bowler Tom O'Neill told the Leader he would be sitting out this season.
"Things have been a bit full-on lately with the coaching and everything, so I thought just having a year off would be pretty handy," O'Neill said.
Saturday's action begins at Riverside No.2 Oval from 1pm.
Note: At the time of publication, there was the threat of rain, but no decision about the whether the match would go ahead or not had been made.
