Starring at last year's competition, the Robins will go head to head with some of the region's best players at Chillingworth Oval.

Robins coach Adelaide Monika said her side was looking forward to the challenge of this year's competition.

"We had a few issues getting people registered for this weekend, but we were able to get a side together at the last minute," she said.

"I think our girls are ready to go. They have been training pretty intensely over the past couple of weeks, so we shouldn't have any excuses."

Monika said this year's competition had the potential to be "very special".

"Personally, I think it is really good to see a few new teams in this year's competition," she said.

"I know Werris Creek missed out on last year's event, so it's good to see them back.

"As well as them, it's really cool to see Manilla entering a side this year as well.

"Overall, I think that's really positive and a good sign that our sport is growing in the region."

Most of the Robins' side will be made up of the club's league tag players.

However, Monika said some new faces gave her side "a bit of mix".

"We have some really experienced players in our ranks and some that are having their first go at tackle," she said.

"I think that should hold us in good stead and hopefully make us pretty competitive across the board.

"Our main goal will be to be competitive and give our girls every chance to be selected for representative squads."
