also the recent big push with Michelle Bridges the personal trainer, what is wrong with our local gyms and personal trainers, at least the money going to them remains in our town.
Come on Tamworth residents, support local, things are hard enough at the moment for our local business owners.

Climate change
In reply to B.Candy (Letters 1/10/19), my letter (NDL 25/9/19) did not deny the reality of climate change but did report the statement of the IPCC that there is insufficient evidence to attribute the severity of recent weather events to global warming.
There is no justification for claiming we face a climate catastrophe. On the other hand, there is insufficient space here to list the significant benefits of global warming.
The damaging effects are often exaggerated e.g. specific details of rising sea levels as a result of warming oceans and melting continental ice sheets are rarely reported. There has been no observable rise in the level of Sydney Harbour over the last 70 years.
Apparent sea level rises around low lying Pacific islands are probably due to sinking caused by the removal of ground water for domestic use.
Climate alarmists and protesters constantly call for action on climate change but they never tell us what action they want.
If it is to decrease or eliminate CO2 emissions, the cost and detrimental effects would greatly exceed any benefits (Holford letters 3/10/19).
Decarbonising the Australian economy would require the closure of all coal and gas fired power stations and the elimination of all transport using fossil liquid fuel.
This would decrease global emissions by a trivial 1.3%! The impracticality of this is obvious.
