He's been king of the kids for the last eight years but Neil Gaffney has shot his last basket as coordinator of the Aussie Hoops program.
The much-loved coach and volunteer is taking a bit of a break but will leave behind a lasting legacy.
"He'll be a big loss," Tamworth Basketball Administrator Peter McDonald said.
He said Gaffney has "been great" for the program, which is designed to introduce 5-10-year olds to the game.
"Probably one of the most important parts of the association is starting the new players off," he said.
Even the entertainer, one of the things Gaffney really brought to the role was creating a fun environment for them to learn in.
"The main thing is they enjoy it and continue in basketball," McDonald said.
It is testament in large part to Gaffney that they had a lot of kids return to the program and continue on with the sport.
McDonald said one of the nice touches on Gaffney's final night was that the young rep players he had helping him out were among the over 1280 young players he has given their start in the game to.
The next program starts on October 24 and will run for eight weeks.
Newly-appointed Tamworth Basketball Association development officer Matt Hobson will step into Gaffney's formidable shoes.
