Crews were working beneath the viaduct bridge on the main drag which reduced the Manilla Road to one lane.
It comes with the final roadworks as part of the Jewry Street intersection upgrade set to begin this weekend.

Work to place the final road surface will be carried out over three nights from Sunday, October 13, between 6.30pm and 5.30am, weather permitting.
Access to Jewry Street North will be restricted during work hours with an alternative route available via Brewery Lane and Bligh Street.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane, alternate flow during work hours.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
