Liverpool Plains Shire Council (LPSC) said the North West Drought Workshop will be held at Wallabadah Hall on Friday, October 11
"The workshop is designed for beef producers who want to ensure their plans ahead of summer are appropriate to ensure they meet their livestock needs and I'd encourage local producers to attend," Mayor Andrew Hope said.
Topics will include:
- Nutritional requirements for lactating cows, dry cows and weaners;
- Early weaning;
- Water supplies and estimating how long water supplies will last;
- Drafting and managing cattle appropriately according to conditions
Tamworth's Alastair Rayner of RaynerAg will be one of the main speakers on the day, and Local Land Service Officers will also be on hand to talk to locals.

"It is free to register to attend and this can be done via email to alastair@raynerag.com.au or via Facebook on the RaynerAg page," Cr Hope said.
"Morning tea and lunch will be provided, and pre-registration will assist for catering purposes.
"LPSC encourages the various agencies tasked with providing assistance during the drought to come to the Shire so local farmers can avoid having to travel long distances to access advice and support, and in turn encourages the farming community to attend as a good roll up assists in attracting future events."
