Over ten films "with links to the Tamworth community" will be screened at the Forum 6 Cinemas, and festival co-founder Luke McDonagh believes locals will be blown away by the variety, talent, and entertainment.
"This year we have everything from animation, dance, art, narrative and documentary films - we have had a great reaction," he said.
"There is no themes, or objects or styles, so no restrictions on what people can enter, which makes for a real diversity of ideas and techniques.
"The next Spielberg might even be there."

The event was founded in 2017 when a group of like-minded local filmmakers wanted an event to show their work, brainstorm ideas, and network.
"Tamworth is such a cultural hub for dance and music, and there is definitely a spot for cinema, too," Mr McDonagh said.
"Technology is so good these days that people can make a short film with just a phone, or a drone or Gopro, or they can also have a $10,000 camera - that is what the event is all about."
The festival will also act as a networking opportunity for people interested in all things film, whether it be writing, filming, producing, or even just watching.
"A few years ago everyone wanted to be a director, but now we are finding people are really interested in the other roles as well like production, make-up, design and special effects," Mr McDonagh said.
"This is a great opportunity to come together, talk and meet people who's skills and interests might compliment each other."
The Tamworth Short Film Festival is a free, family-friendly, event starting at 6.30pm at the Forum 6 Cinemas.
Bookings can be made via the Tamworth Short Film Festival website.
