ANOTHER 120 sheep have been reported stolen from the Ashford area, just days after 132 animals were called in as missing.
An investigation has been launched into the disappearance of the 120 Merino-Dorset ewes from the property Beldan on Limestone Road, Ashford.
The whole mob was counted at the end of June 2019 and found to all be present; but, at the end of August, 120 were identified as missing.
Members from the New England Rural Crime Prevention Team in Inverell have encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
It comes after 132 Merino ewes, heavy in lamb, were reported stolen from the property Trevanna on the Inverell Road at Ashford.
The latest missing sheep are ewes, predominately two-teeth, in full wool; they were due to be shorn in two weeks.
They are station-bred and do not have ear tags, but some have a double horn earmark.
Most of the ewes still have their tails.
Investigators are keen to speak to anyone with information on the missing sheep or suspicious activity on or around the property.
People are also urged to promptly report any stock theft, even small numbers.
