Narrabri West's Ruby Clayton produced possibly the last record-breaking performance at the Tamworth Athletics Centre when the North West Schools Sports Association held it's primary carnival on Friday.

The carnival was the last to be run at the old track with the new complex set to open in the coming weeks.
Clayton clocked 14.90 seconds in her 9-years 100m to equal the mark set by M Hunt (Sandon Public School) in 2003.
An estimated 700 athletes from around the region competed on Friday with the top three placegetters in each event progressing onto the state carnival, which will be held at Sydney Olympic Park on November 5 and 6.
Inverell Public's Ella Gleeson was one of the standout performers finishing in the top three in five of her events.

School-mate Sophie Greentree, Narrabri Wests' Nate Browning, Quirindi Public's Alexis Slater and Walcha Central's Stephanie Blake have meanwhile qualified in four events while Sarah O'grady (Bundarra Central), Charlotte Craig (Mullalley Public), Clayton, Porscha Ring (Nemingha Public), Tyreece Harris (Ross Hill), Ty Weckert (Ross Hill) and Ly Ung (Tamworth West) all had three top three placings.
Ring is currently in Darwin representing NSW at the School Sport Australia Track and Field Championships, where she will compete in the 10-years girls 200m.
After the opening ceremony on Wednesday the competition gets underway on Thursday.
