Wayne Ashley Philp, 48, pleaded guilty to driving dangerously causing grievous bodily harm, and will also be sentenced on a related offence for driving a motor vehicle while his licence was suspended.
Judge Jeffery McLennan set a sentence hearing date on Monday, he will hand down his judgement in Tamworth District Court next Friday.
Philp has remained on bail since the horror accident that hospitalised a 65-year-old woman in April, last year.
The victim sustained serious lower leg and abdominal injuries in the collision, when Philp's Nissan X-trail drove up the parking lane on the wrong side of Scott Road.
The crash took place just near the bridge.
The case was helped by dramatic dashcam footage captured by the car travelling in front of the victim's Holden Cruz.
