Hundreds of motorcyclists rode to Canberra in the Wall to Wall Rememberance Ride for fallen Australian police officers.
Friends and family of David Rixon were among them, he was murdered in March, seven years ago.
NSW Police Association Traffic and Highway Patrol executive member Mick Buko was among the officers who led an escort out of town at the weekend.
"Police from all over Australia in their own time travel from every state and territory to do their own memorial ride," he said.
"It's a sign of respect, a lot of them are current serving and ex-serving police.
"For me, I worked here as highway patrol with Dave Rixon, but two of my best mates have also passed away on duty so it's special to some of us."
Senior Constable Rixon was gunned down while performing a random traffic stop in Lorraine St, West Tamworth, on the morning of March 2, 2012.
