The firearms stolen during a break-in to a car in Gunnedah have been recovered, a day after the arrest of a second boy charged over the incident.

About 2.20pm yesterday, the two stolen rifles were surrendered to Gunnedah Police Station.
Police allege both firearms have been destroyed by fire.
Gunnedah Police Inspector Michael Wurth had earlier said it was unknown if the weapons had been used since their theft, but officers had had no reports of gunshots.
The Oxley Rural Crime Prevention Team will investigate more, and "numerous additional charges are expected to be laid", according to a police statement.

The firearms were stolen sometime between 9.30pm on September 4 and 6.30am the next day.
Police were notified they had been taken from the footwell of a ute parked on Little Barber Street, Gunnedah.
The vehicle had been found up against a boundary fence with those and other items missing.
One boy, aged 17, was arrested about 3.45pm on Tuesday, September 10, and another the same age was arrested about 8.30am on Wednesday, September 11.
They appeared before a children's court that day and were refused bail to reappear on September 17.
