Magistrate Michael Holmes ordered police to compile a brief of evidence in the case, and serve it on Westaway's solicitor before it returns to court in mid-October.
Westaway, who was granted conditional bail by police after his arrest, had his bail continued in court.
He was arrested when police raided a Kirkwood Street property in Armidale about 2.35pm on June 25.
New England officers searched the property and uncovered what they allege was 27.5g of methlaphetamine, or ice.
Police claimed at the time of the seizure that the drugs had an estimated street value of $13,500.
Officers also said they seized a sum of cash and ammunition during the raid.
Police said a 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Armidale Police Station, where he was questioned and later charged.
The drugs seized at the home were to undergo a forensic analysis, police said then.
