BRAYDEN Reid celebrated his best week as a North Tamworth Bears player as his side won Saturday's Group 4 under-18 grand final.
Brayden and his Bear cub teammates beat Dungowan 22-14 to claim the title.
Earlier in the week the 16-year-old Year 11 Oxley High School student had been named the Group 4 Under-18 player of the year at the Group 4 presentation night at the North Tamworth Bowling Club.
"Our boys stood up today [Sunday]," he said.
"We spoke about getting a really good start today and did that.
"We knew they [Dungowan] would come back and we stuck it out.
"We did have a really good first half and we kept our composure in the second half.
"I'm stoked for the boys."
Reid admitted scoring his second try "gave me goosebumps".
He's now preparing for a big 2020 with the HSC looming and a few footballing objectives on his radar.
