The Redmen have been beaten 2-nil, 2-1 and 3-2 in their three clashes with the minor premiers this year but coach John Edmunds knows his side can topple them.
"We have led in two of the games," he said.
"Our numbers were down and they fought to the end and got the goals. We will just have to be up for it for 90 minutes this time."
Despite their record of strong starts against FC, Norths haven't been getting off to the best of beginnings in recent rounds.
"We have probably have had a mixed bag with our starts over the last month or so," Edmunds said.
"A couple good and a couple not so good.
"If we can get out there and get off to a good start, it will put us in a good position for the rest of the game."
Norths United will be blessed with something they haven't experienced for much of the year - a full-strength squad to take to Tamworth's Scully Park.
Sunday will see the minor semi-final between South Armidale and North Companions take place at the Armidale Sportsground.
Scorpions' president Joe Campbell believes North Companions' end of season form
"They have shown some massive improvement and we are going to have to be on our game on Sunday," he said.
"We are going to have be on our best form to beat them."
Souths are expecting to put "two strong teams on the field" this weekend with their reserve grade sneaking into fourth spot. Campbell is happy with the club's improvement this year compared to a tough 2018 season.
"Looking back to last year, we didn't have any premier league teams in the semis. To get both through with a big chance to go on for another week and possibly right through to the grand final," he said.
