First aid expert/teacher Jamie Day still gets emotional when he talks about saving his daughter Jorjia's life - not once but five times.

Jorjia suffers from life threatening seizures and if it wasn't for his extensive first aid training, she might not be the happy and healthy 13-year-old she is today.
"I can't tell you how important first aid training is," said Jamie, who owns New England North West First Aid Training and Security Services in Tamworth. "I would not have been able to save my daughter's life - not once but five times - without it."
Jamie said his business is unique as it services a large area from the Southern Gold Coast to Walgett to Newcastle and all places in between.
"Traditionally people have had to travel to places like Newcastle and Sydney for first aid training but we can come to your business or town and do your training where you are and meet all your individual needs," said Jamie, who has been in business for 13 years.
"We have grown from being a small business teaching 100 students first aid a year to anywhere between two to three thousand now. I am a preferred provider for the Department of Education and the Department of Industry and local childcare centres.

"I am their go to person and I pride myself on the relationships I have with my customers and the quality product we offer at reasonable prices."
First aid is becoming an "in demand" qualification, according to Jamie who has worked with St John's Ambulance for 19 years and also provides first aid services at sporting and other events.
"At the end of the day it isn't about the piece of paper you get," he said.
"It is about being able to put those skills you have learnt to use and help people who need it. It is knowing what to do and when to do it - when to worry and when to seek help."
Jamie offers courses in Tamworth several days a week and on Thursday nights. A full day first aid course starts at $70.
"You never know when you are going to need to use your first aid training but it is such a great skill to have," Jamie said.
"I have used it in car accidents, at shopping malls, sporting matches and of course at home."
