There is sure to be a bit of debate at tonight's Tamworth Regional Council meeting following a call from staff to keep the Scully pool open once the city reaches its level five water restriction trigger.
The council's drought management plan advises public pools close down once level five restrictions come into effect.
Some community members have already lobbied council to open its pool in Kootingal as well to service the small township and the local triathlon club.
