He's had a successful career in music, hosted the Golden Guitar Awards alongside Amber Lawrence and welcomed his baby girl Pepper into the world.
Brand saw no better way to celebrate than by doing what he does best with his new single Life's Been Good to Me.
"There's all those words people use, 'it's organic, earthy, raw,' I don't have any clever words for how this album sounds," he said.
"What I want it to sound like is happy, I want it to sound real and to touch people and have people enjoy it."
Brand's been quietly working on his new album of the same name, he headed over to Nashville for the first time in about eight years to record it and reconnect with songwriter and old friend Luke Wooten.
While his music hasn't changed significantly, fatherhood has had an immense impact on Brand.
"It's not until you feel it, hold your baby in your arms - this brand new little soul, you just think there's way more important things than a higher chart position or a holiday house," he said.
"There's things that take priority, holding my little girl in my arms, the thing that really matters is that we're happy and healthy and care for each other.
"You want to enjoy and get the most out of life but I think we miss that when we're stressing and chasing the things we think we're supposed to have."
It's that sentiment that inspired his newest single, the concept that while life has it's ups and downs it's important to stop and take a breath.
Fans on the Brandwagon will have better luck catching him on Peel Street this Tamworth Country Music Festival than up on stage under the big lights, he said.

Those who love Brand's usual Midnight Bash at Wests might get an early night's sleep next January instead.
"I'm in my backyard with my little girl all this year, I want to stay home this year," he said.
"I'll be popping up places at Tamworth Country Music Festival, maybe I won't do a ticketed show.
"I have a feeling to do a bit of busking, you're more prone to find me on Peel Street this festival."
