The Nomads beating Inverell in the preliminary final is unsurprising and the Armidale side will "present a real challenge" to Gunnedah in Saturday's grand final, Bulldogs coach Doug Meagher has said.

New England upset the reigning premiers and the minor premiers by 11 points at Varley Oval on Saturday - the final score 11.10.76 to 9.11.65.
They will meet Gunnedah, who downed the Saints in the major semi-final, in the grand final at Wolseley Oval.

The Bulldogs will attempt to regain the premiership they last won in 2017, when they beat New England in the grand final.
Meagher said: "I knew what they [Inverell] could bring. The Nomads are an unknown. And having spoken to a number of other people, their [the Nomads] speed and skill is always gonna be a very big concern."
Meanwhile, the Tamworth Kangaroos beat the Tamworth Swans by nine points in the women's preliminary final at Varley Oval on Saturday.
In the earlier junior finals at the ground, the Moree Suns outclassed the Tamworth Roosters by 135 points (26.24.180 to 9.6.45) in the under-17s, while the Glen Innes Celts won a five-point thriller in the under-14s.
