Rescue personnel worked to free the 20-year-old woman who suffered fractures to both legs, in the crash on Tuesday morning.
She was stabilised by a doctor and paramedic from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter at the scene and flown to Tamworth hospital in a stable condition.
The road has re-opened to traffic.

THE New England Highway is closed and a woman is trapped in a car that has crashed down an embankment south of Tamworth.
Emergency services are working to free the woman, believed to be aged 20, who is trapped in the wreckage, off the New England Highway bridge at Willow Tree, near Chilcotts Creek.
An Ambulance NSW spokesperson said three ambulance units as well as the Westpac Rescue Helicopter had been deployed to the crash site, after a triple zero call at 9.30am.
They were called to reports a car had left the road and crashed down an embankment.
Paramedics are treating a 20-year-old woman for lower limb fractures to both her legs and have confirmed she is in a stable condition.

She remains trapped in the vehicle with emergency personnel working to rescue her.
The highway has been closed while the rescue operation continues, about 4km south of Willow Tree.
The RMS says motorists are advised to delay their trip and avoid the area because there is no diversions in place.
Motorists already in the area should allow plenty of extra time, the RMS said.
