A TODDLER is recovering in a Sydney hospital after being struck by a car in the driveway of an Inverell home.

Police said the 19-month-old baby was hit by a car that was reversing in a Granville Street driveway, about 9.30pm on Sunday.
NSW Ambulance confirmed no paramedics were called to the scene but police said the child was rushed to Inverell hospital.
From there, the child was assessed by doctors for a suspected broken arm, bruising and grazing.

The toddler was then flown to Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick for specialist treatment for the non life-threatening injuries, police confirmed.
Officers were notified of the accident and are investigating the circumstances surrounding it.
Police have confirmed that another family member was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident and investigations are continuing.
Appeal after thieves cut power to homes
Meanwhile, police are appealing for help after similar reports of attempted break and enters in Inverell.
Police said several homes in Froude Street, Coolibah Place, George Street and Prince Street had the power turned off to properties between 1am and 4am on Saturday.
Officers said the power was turned off to the homes at the power boxes and attempts were made to enter the homes by forcing windows or removing the exterior flyscreens.
Police said the thieves were unsuccessful in most attempts but are urging residents to be vigilant, ensure their homes are secured and to call police if they notice any suspicious activity.
