Take a drive past the new Viaduct Park facility on any day of the week and you're almost certain to see some kids craving-up the new rink.
It has been an instant hit with youngsters in the community and it comes as no surprise to Tamworth councillor Charles Impey.

Cr Impey, a high school careers adviser by day, said the new skate-park slotted-in seamlessly to the broader plan to create a more "livable" city.
But there was a desire for a facility of its ilk long before the shovels hit the dirt.
Cr Impey said a number of young people had a say on the project which spoke of the importance of good community consultation on any public or private developments.
The skate-park officially opened a little more than two months ago, and while it has been well-received in its infancy, there will be long term benefits for the city, Cr Impey said.
"Firstly, it kids gets away from screens," he said.
"It gets kids engaging and being a part of a community.
"It's an Olympic sport now, so being able to host events and competitions is something that can't be overlooked."
He also suggested it would become a place where families could build memories and a great sense of self-esteem could be established in kids.
"It's also a place where young people and adults can be together," he said.
"As a kid growing up, there was nothing I loved more than my parents watching me perform, whether it was in sport, a musical or drama, if they were there that meant so much.
"I think it helps build the fabric of the community."
The $1.7 million Tamworth skate-park was opened officially on May 26 with joint funding from Tamworth Regional Council and the state government.
It has also helped establish a new business in town with Chantelle and Kris Faulkner pulling the trigger on opening their store, Tamworth Bike, Skate, Scoot, on Darling Street.
There should be some more business brewing at Viaduct Park as well after the council called for tenders to establish a new cafe on site. Tenders closed on June 12.
