Understandably, the day is a bit of a blur to Jason.
On Saturday he will join his father and other Magpies from the side, as well as Creek fans in general, in reliving that special occasion when the club hosts Gunnedah on its Old Boys Day.
Jason, the organiser of the day, said most players from the side would be there on Saturday.
Former Balmain player Bill Bischoff, the famed coach of the '79 Magpies, will travel from his Gold Coast home to be there.

In a Magpies' Old Boys Day podcast, Trevor Leonard said he was particularly keen to catch up with Bischoff.
"What a massive coach he was," Trevor said. "He coached us in '78, '79. He would be the best coach that's been around this area - ever."
It is expected that former back-rower Peter Rodden will return for the big day.
Trevor described Rodden "as probably one of the best players to ever come through the club".
When Bischoff came to Werris Creek in 1978, Rodden did as well. He wanted played under the mentor.
The victory snapped a 27-year premiership drought for the club. Jason said it was a "turning point" for the Creek, with another six division-one titles claimed: '82, '86, '93, '95, '96 and '97.
Werris Creek also won the Clayton's Cup in 1996 - recognised as the best country team in NSW.
The Old Boys Day will commence with a league tag clash at 12pm, followed by reserve-grade and first-grades games.
Post-match, there will be a function and an auction to raise money for a local charity.
Jason also played senior footy with the Magpies. His son Zac is a current Creek first-grader.
Jason saluted the Magpies' storied history: "The club's over 100 years old and been in continual operation the whole time.
"If you go anywhere around NSW, even Australia for that matter, and you've got a Werris Creek Magpies shirt on, it's amazing how many people recognise the footy club."
