The Joint Regional Planning Plan (JRPP) will meet at Tamworth Regional Council's chambers to weigh up the merits of the 9-megawatt project.
The solar farm has already been approved by council, however it needs the JRPP's final tick of approval.
Council only received one submission during its exhibition period, which raised concerns about the potential impacts on the adjoining racecourse.
More than 27,000 panels are proposed for the Taminda site, off Wallamore Road.

The company is seeking to construct a poultry processing plant at its Gunnedah Road site, which would be large enough to process three million birds a week and render up to 1680 tonnes of finished product.
Submissions can be made until Tuesday, August 20. The plans can be viewed at the NSW Department of Planning's major projects portal.
