Priestley's manager Robert Burton said the rescheduling was necessary due to issues finding a suitable challenger for the title and time constraints regarding the venue and its planned renovations.

"Moree Memorial Hall is a fantastic venue and we wanted to make sure we could use it for TC's Moree title defence, so we've decided to wait until renovations were completed to allow us more flexibility with the event date," he said.

Meanwhile Priestley is scheduled to make his first defence of the title in Gunnedah for Black & Blue Boxing Promotions in September at a date to be finalised.

Priestley will be doing several public training/sparring sessions over the next few months to allow his supporters to see him in action as he prepares for his title defence.

Meanwhile, Priestley and Moree Boxing and Fitness coach Colin Rice, along with coach Mark Pitts, have started a training program similar to the program used in the lead up to Priestley's fight in April this year when he defeated Ben Dencio to capture his Australian title.

Priestly said he can't wait to return to the ring and show why he's the champion.

"This belt is mine, so just try to take it from me. I'll be ready for whoever the challenger may be, bring it on," he said.
