Kids from around the region and the state flocked to the fields for the opening day of the Games' rugby league competition.
A crowd of more than 2000 spectators gathered to watch some of the rugby league stars of tomorrow battle it out.

More than 800 youngsters battled it out during the opening day's competition, all vying for a place in the finals.
Each team put in a massive effort, backing up for several games throughout the day.
The competition continues tomorrow from 8.30am.
