Ryan Swann, Dylan Moore and Morgan Dunn took on teams from the Hunter, North Coast and Central Coast at the Northern carnival in Coffs Harbour on July 9 and 10.
The North West team finished win-less against some tough competition but the Nomads trio made an impact and were named in the Northern Heat representative squad at the conclusion of the carnival.
AFL North West coordinator Jamie Moore applauded the three boys.
"It is a huge achievement for the Nomads under-17s and for the boys themselves," he said.
Of North West's efforts at the carnival, Moore said they acquitted themselves well.
"We only had two training sessions and a couple of them, it was their first time they have been selected for representative," he said.
"The results don't mean anything when you see how strong the competition was and how much the North West brought to the table.
"They didn't go down lying down."
