HE grew up on punk, found inspiration in the likes of Peter Green, John Mayall, Eric Burdon, Eric Clapton and the Stones, then took a step back to "the real shit".
Jesse Redwing always felt like he was a blues man, the three-piece band released their debut album Crawlin' Up the Walls and he's headed to Tamworth.
"The blues was my woman long before I ever got laid," he said.
"I was born this way and it took a few years to find expression.
"I've always been able to sing, I always knew this was my life passion and the only option for me."
Told by a street vendor in San Francisco that he must have been reincarnated from John Lee Hooker, Redwing has dedicated his life to the good, old-fashioned country blues.
His song Crawlin' Up the Walls featured in hit Netflix series Shooter, and the band has played alongside rock legends Cold Chisel.
Jessie Redwing is performing at The Tamworth Hotel on Friday, July 19.
