Trent Geoffrey Howlett and Enzo Stevie Jay Levy are both charged with robbery in company in connection to the hold-up in Glen Innes on June 12.
Police allege the pair struck a 43-year-old man from behind, outside a caravan park on the New England Highway, shortly before midnight.
The pair allegedly stole the man's wallet and fled, leaving him with minor lacerations and bruising to his face.
Police were alerted and detectives took charge of the case, tracking down witnesses and CCTV which they claim is crucial to the case.
Levy, 18, was arrested less than a week later and remains behind bars, after again fronting an Armidale court earlier this month.
Howlett, 38, was arrested in Glen Innes on Sunday and was denied bail in Armidale Local Court, by magistrate Michael Holmes.
Both have not been required to enter pleas and will return to court at a later date.
