This year the Tamworth Business Chamber received a total of 750 individual nominations, tipping the cap to an incredible 434 respective businesses throughout the entire region.

Chamber president Jye Segboer said customer service is what sets a good business and a great business apart.

"There's no question that great customer service sets you apart from your competitors and some of the nominations we received were incredibly heartfelt and detailed in their description," he said.

"We always receive a high standard of entries, and this year is no exception."

Of the 27 awards up for grabs, 18 of them will be judged by a panel of 60 "experienced and impartial" volunteer judges, who will essentially "mystery shop" the nominees, while the remaining nine awards, which are aligned with the NSW Business Chamber, will be "externally judged."

"We have now handed the process over to our team of qualified and independent judges, and we expect to announce the finalists in each category on July 20," Mr Segboer said.

"The awards have seen an extraordinary response, and are a testament to the calibre and resilience of our business community."

The Quality Business Awards are being held at the TRECC on August 9, with tickets available via the Tamworth Business Chamber.
